Review: Sunnies brand sunglasses offer style and protection kids and parents will love

Though the school year has yet to end here in New York state, my kids are already in full on summer mode. They are ready for sun, sun, sun, and, did I mention? sun!

The weather is warming up, which means lots more time spent outdoors enjoying those sunny days.

I am lucky to have parents who live close to several beaches on Long Island, and late last month, I took the kids out so they could spend a couple of days out in the sand and surf.

During our visit, my kids had the opportunity to try out Sunnies, a sunglasses brand I was sent for review.

Though they have been through several pairs each, I never quite found sunglasses my kids liked, and I could be confident were keeping their eyes safe.

I was intrigued by Sunnies promise to deliver polarized sunglasses that offered the UVA/UVB protection we have all come to expect.

I was concerned that the same-sized glasses would not fit both my kids, who are seven and nine and have vastly different head sizes. I was reassured after both my kids tried them on and found their Sunnies to be comfortable and easy to wear.

With whimsical names like “Just Monkeying Around” and “Chillin Like A Villain,” Sunnies offers a variety of shades in bold colors and captivating prints. Priced between $25 and $30 per pair, Sunnies provides kids with premium sun protection without the premium price.

Sunnies is a mom-founded business, so as a fellow mother myself, I understand the care and thoughtfulness co-founders Kim and Courtney put into their brand. I appreciate how they wanted to create something that would help their own children as well as others. I also love how they are using their Sunnies brand to support a cause — giving a portion of all online sales to Canine Companions.

Sunnies are durable, well-made and a great for a day out at the pool, beach, or just playing in the backyard. They are recommended for children ages 4 to 12, and can be purchased online at sunniesshades.com.
